This page contains information about TRICARE and how to
enroll for supplemental coverage to help pay for those medical
expenses not paid for by TRICARE. If you are eligible for TRICARE,
you are eligible to apply for a TRICARE SUPPLEMENT Plan.

TRICARE is the government's health insurance program for all seven
of the uniformed services. Implementation of TRICARE began in March
1995, and is now fully implemented in CONUS and Europe.
Eligible dependents active duty members, military retirees and their families,
and surviving spouses (and some former spouses) who are not eligible for Medicare
may participate in at least one of three TRICARE Options. Additionally,
individuals under age 65 who are eligible for Medicare because of disability or
end-stage kidney disease may also participate.
Eligibility for TRICARE is determined by the individual services and
member must be enrolled in DEERS, the Defense Enrollment Eligibility
Reporting System (see DEERS link on right side of page).
